Johnson & Johnson Acquires Auris Health for $3.4B to Expand Digital Surgery Portfolio
Johnson & Johnson acquiresAuris Health, a developer of robotic technologies for $3.4 billion in cash. Auris Health is a privately-held developer of robotic technologies, initially focused on lung cancer, with an FDA-cleared Monarch platform currently used in bronchoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This acquisition will accelerate Johnson & Johnson’s entry into robotics and strengthens its digital surgery portfolio of solutions.
Philips Acquires Carestream Health’s Health IT Business Unit
Royal Philips acquires Carestream Health’s healthcare information systems (HCIS) business unit. Carestream’s HCIS business unit includes enterprise imaging IT solutions for multi-site hospitals, radiology services providers, imaging centers and specialty medical clinics. The acquisition of Carestream’s enterprise imaging platform will help expand Philips’ healthcare IT business portfolio of VNA, diagnostic and enterprise viewers, multimedia reporting, workflow orchestrator and clinical, operational and business analytics tools.
Hill-Rom Acquires Mobile Communication Platform Voalte for $180M
Mobile technology company Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc., acquires Voalte, a Sarasota, FL-based real-time, mobile healthcare communications for $180 million in cash and up to an additional $15 million in payments related to the achievement of certain commercial milestones. BioTelemetry Acquires Cardiac Remote Monitoring Startup Geneva Healthcare for $45M
BioTelemetry, a provider of remote and wireless medical technology acquired Geneva Healthcare, a provider of remote implantable cardiac device-monitoring services. Under terms of the acquisition agreement, BioTelemetry will pay $45M in cash upfront plus potential earn-outs of at least $20M. Geneva generated $6M in revenue in 2018.
Francisco Partners Acquires Qualcomm Life, Renames as CapsuleTech
