Walmart Health Taps Zotec Partners to Power Patient Financial Experience

Walmart Health’s first “super center in Dallas, GA

– Walmart Health has formed an end-to-end RCM technology and services relationship with Zotec Partners to simplify the healthcare financial experience processes for its customers, including primary care, dental, vision, and mental health services.

– Zotec’s technology will enable Walmart Health patients to schedule and register for appointments ahead of time, confirm or change insurance and demographic information, see estimated cost for services, receive text and email updates, efficiently check-in and out, and make payments at the time of service all on their computer or mobile device.

Today, Zotec Partners announced that its revenue cycle management and patient experience services and solutions will lay the foundation for this Walmart Health’s digital transformation into healthcare, solving a key pain point in healthcare today – patient financial transparency. Zotec’s solutions deliver Walmart customers unprecedented control over the healthcare interaction, putting them at the center of a connected experience from pre-registration to post-discharge, including simple appointment scheduling, real-time eligibility, and price transparency, ultimately providing the retail experience healthcare consumers have been looking for while maintaining the integrity of healthcare processes.

Transforming the Healthcare Financial Experience in New Walmart Health Center

Walmart Health Taps Zotec Partners to Power Patient Financial Experience

The Walmart Health center offers low, transparent pricing regardless of insurance status for key healthcare services including primary care, labs, X-ray and EKG, counseling, dental, optical, hearing, community health (nutritional services, fitness) and health insurance education and enrollment all in one facility, conveniently located outside the store with a separate entrance for customers. Customers will be notified on the estimated cost of their visit when they book their appointment.

The Walmart Health center will be operated by qualified medical professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, behavioral health providers, and optometrists. Walmart Care Hosts and Community Health Workers onsite will help customers navigate their visit, understand resources and be a familiar presence for regular visits. Working in partnership with wellness organizations, the Health Center will offer specialized community health resources, online education and in-center workshops to educate the community about preventive health and wellness.

Walmart’s recent launch of its first-ever Walmart Health Center in Dallas, GA. proves there is a healthcare transformation happening that is moving us towards the availability of consumer-centric solutions designed to address healthcare’s biggest challenges – i.e. transparency, costs, and accessibility, among others.

Seamless Patient Financial Experience for Walmart Health Patients

Specifically, Zotec’s technology will enable Walmart Health patients to schedule and register for appointments ahead of time, confirm or change insurance and demographic information, see estimated cost for services, receive text and email updates, efficiently check-in and out, and make payments at the time of service all on their computer or mobile device. For providers, the technology will instantly alert them when patients arrive, while seamlessly integrating the registration components with the EMR to document the encounter and price before they leave.

The Bigger Picture

Beyond this latest partnership, Zotec’s services and technologies have the potential to disrupt healthcare by bringing consumer and retail-based experiences to patients everywhere, while enabling healthcare organizations of all sizes and specialties to enjoy increased patient interaction and satisfaction, as well as simpler processes throughout the healthcare business interaction.

“With Zotec’s easy-to-use solutions, built around decades of industry expertise with financial interactions, we are able to streamline the entire medical encounter for our customers, offering them easy scheduling, simple one-time registration and options to pay – a true connected experience, contributing to the delivery of our commitment to customers to offer affordable, transparent pricing for key health services,” said Phil Suiter, Walmart’s Chief Wellness Officer and Vice President of Clinical Operations.
