What You Should Know:

– Google launches Loss of Pulse Detection, a new feature on Pixel Watch 3 designed to save lives.

– The new feature can detect when a user has lost their pulse and automatically place a call to emergency services, providing critical assistance in life-threatening situations.

Loss of Pulse Detection Feature

The feature leverages advanced AI and sensor technology to accurately detect loss of pulse events. By combining signals from the heart rate sensor, infrared and red lights, and motion sensor, the Pixel Watch 3 can identify potential emergencies and initiate a timely response.

Loss of Pulse Detection is an opt-in feature that prioritizes user privacy and safety. The device undergoes a series of checks before placing a call to emergency services, including a check-in to confirm the user’s well-being. This helps to minimize false alarms and ensure that the feature is used effectively.

Google collaborated with cardiologists, emergency medical service providers, and other experts to develop and refine the Loss of Pulse Detection feature. Extensive testing and simulations were conducted to ensure its reliability and effectiveness.

Availability

The availability of Loss of Pulse Detection on Pixel Watch 3 marks a significant step forward in wearable technology and emergency response. By empowering individuals to take control of their health and safety, Google is helping to create a safer world for everyone.
