Babyscripts, the leading virtual care company for managing obstetrics, and Amerigroup D.C., a Medicaid managed care organization, have partnered to deliver pregnancy care solutions to George Washington University Hospital, Community of Hope and other local D.C. area regional hospitals. This unique partnership will increase access to care for pregnant mothers, delivering the benefits of remote monitoring and virtual care through Babyscripts’ mobile and web-based solution.

Babyscripts-Amerigroup Partnership Details

Through this partnership, Amerigroup D.C. consumers will receive prenatal support from Babyscripts, including access to educational materials in English and Spanish and at multiple reading levels, care navigation to identify social determinants of health, and remote monitoring to manage gestational diabetes and blood pressure. In concert with local health system partners, this partnership will coordinate care between the provider, patient, and the plan to improve access to care and identify risk factors with Medicaid populations in the District of Columbia.

Babyscripts provides a virtual care solution for obstetrics that allows healthcare providers to deliver a new model of prenatal and postpartum care. Through a mobile app and remote monitoring experiences, the Babyscripts solution enables earlier risk detection and intervention, driving improved outcomes and increasing patient engagement and satisfaction. With Babyscripts’ seamless integration, providers can automate certain aspects of care to streamline workflow, improve patient outcomes, and increase practice reimbursement.

Impact of Partnership

“At Amerigroup, we have a steadfast commitment to supporting our members and ensuring they have access to not only the medical care they need but also educational healthcare resources that can improve quality of life,” said Linda Elam, Amerigroup D.C. Plan President. “Improving perinatal health outcomes is a top priority for both Amerigroup and the District of Columbia and we’re confident that our work with Babyscripts will positively impact the health care experience and birth outcomes for our consumers.”
