Maven Raises $45M to Expand On-Demand Virtual Care for Women’s & Family Health

– Today, Maven, a women’s and family digital health company, announced it has raised $45 million in Series C funding led by Icon Ventures and including investments from Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman.

– Maven’s women’s and family telemedicine network expanded rapidly to include 1,700 providers across more than 20 specialties – filling in critical gaps in care.

– The company also announced the launch of Maven Wallet: a new feature to help members better manage receipts and expenses associated with fertility, egg freezing, adoption, and surrogacy reimbursement.

Maven, a New York City-based leading women’s and family digital health company, today announced it has closed $45 million in Series C funding, led by Icon Ventures. The round also included participation from existing investors Sequoia, Oak HC/FT, Spring Mountain Capital, Female Founders Fund, Harmony Partners, and individual strategic investors Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman, Mindy Kaling, and Anne Wojcicki.

The Largest Women’s and Family Telemedicine Network

Founded in 2014 by Katherine Ryder, Maven Clinic partners with employers and health plans to deliver an on-demand virtual care clinic that assists mothers and families during conception, throughout pregnancy, and postpartum. It offers video appointments and private messaging with its proprietary women’s and family health practitioner network, as well as a family benefits platform.

3-Pronged Approach to Improve Maternal Outcomes for Employers

Maven’s three-pronged approach improves maternal outcomes, lowers costs, and attracts and retains more parents in the workforce through:

Custom Provider Network: On-demand access to 1,700 highly vetted women’s and family healthcare providers in 20+ specialties and dedicated Care Advocates available 24/7

Programming built by doctors: Ongoing health assessments and patient-provider matching helps identify risk factors early and guide positive health outcomes

Personalized health experiences: Through data collection and machine learning, Maven delivers dynamic content and health recommendations throughout a member’s journey

Driving Clinical Outcomes for Health Plans

Maven’s family benefits platform helps health plans reduce maternity-related costs and improve maternal health outcomes, fill key gaps in care for any path to parenthood, and enhances your clinical programs with industry-leading engagement. Maven provides a full range of family and fertility benefits including:

Fertility: IVF, Egg Freezing, Surrogacy, Adoption

Maternity: Pregnancy, Delivery, Postpartum, Early Pediatrics, Loss, Partners

Return to Work: Coaching, Manager Training, Breast Milk Shipping, Childcare Guides

Recent Traction/Milestones

Over the last twelve months, Maven has expanded rapidly, driven by the adoption of its family benefits platform among individuals, employers, and health plans seeking better solutions for women’s health, family planning, and diversity in the workforce. The latest round of funding will be used to support Maven’s growth, deepen investment in its core digital programs across fertility, maternity, return-to-work, and pediatrics and expand into adjacent areas

This past year, Maven’s client base tripled driven by partnerships with clients from over 100 companies globally, across the Fortune 50 and representing every industry. Maven’s women’s and family telehealth network expanded to include 1,700 providers across more than 20 specialties, filling in critical gaps in a broken healthcare system. With the recent launch of Maven Wallet—a new feature designed to help members better manage receipts and expenses associated with fertility, egg freezing, adoption, and surrogacy reimbursement—Maven is the only end-to-end care solution for the entire family journey.

“We believe that women’s and family health is not just a vertical, but the core of a functional healthcare system,” said Kate Ryder, Founder & CEO, Maven. “With this latest round of funding, Maven will continue to double down and invest in the long term to drive meaningful, sustained change.”
