Suki AI Integrates with MEDENT and Azalea Health EHRs

What You Should Know:

– Rush University System for Health, a academic health system, today announced the expansion of its partnership with Suki, a pioneer in AI technology for healthcare.

– Following a successful pilot program, Rush will deploy Suki’s AI Assistant across its entire enterprise, empowering clinicians across 28 specialties to reduce administrative burden and focus on patient care.

Next-Generation AI Dictation

The partnership will also focus on the co-development of a next-generation AI-powered dictation feature directly within Epic, Rush’s electronic health record (EHR) system. This integration will combine Suki’s ambient and dictation technologies into a single, holistic solution, further enhancing clinician efficiency and streamlining workflows.

Success of the Pilot Program

Rush’s initial pilot program with Suki Assistant demonstrated significant benefits:

  • Increased encounter volumes: A 10% increase in encounter volumes, improving access to care for patients and generating more revenue for the health system.
  • Improved coding accuracy: A nearly 5% increase in Level 5 coding levels, resulting in an estimated $202 per month in increased revenue per user.

“In the initial trial period, 74% of our clinicians reported that Suki reduced their burnout levels, and 95% expressed a desire to continue using it—reinforcing our belief in the transformational power of AI in healthcare,” said Briana Rygg, Chief Applications Officer at Rush. “As early adopters of ambient technology, we are excited to partner with Suki to rapidly develop and deploy advanced functionality for nursing, inpatient/ED, and our learners. Suki’s robust AI Assistant capabilities and deep Epic integration make it easy to scale across all Rush facilities as we aim to improve clinician well-being and drive operational efficiencies for health systems nationwide.”
