What You Should Know:

– Validic launches COVID-19 rapid deployment remote monitoring tool for employers and healthcare organizations to monitor employees, patients, and other individuals at scale for emerging symptoms of COVID-19.

– COVID-19 Home Monitoring tracks a person’s body temperature, difficulty breathing, cough frequency, and oxygen saturation.

– Triggered alerts will notify program administrators or clinicians as a person’s symptoms worsen, improve, or remain static – or as a quarantine period ends with no symptoms present.

Validic, a provider of data solutions for remote monitoring and virtual engagement today announced the launch of a real-time monitoring solution designed to observe, analyze and triage individuals remotely for the emergence of COVID-19 symptoms. The COVID-19 Home Monitoring solution provides insight into human resource teams, clinicians, and public health officials on which individuals are demonstrating symptoms of COVID-19.

The Growing Need to Remotely Monitor Patients, Employees, At-Risk Individual

Today, there are more than 341,722 confirmed cases worldwide; 35,224 in the U.S. alone (the third-highest for any country) – and this is without the wide availability of testing; and, 14,765 individuals have died as a result of the coronavirus. There’s been a lot of discussions, rightfully so, about monitoring patients remotely, especially as international communities’ plea with the U.S. to move rapidly forward with remote healthcare services.

What we haven’t seen as much coverage on is the need for monitoring mission-critical personnel who can’t self-isolate – the frontline healthcare providers, emergency responders, sanitation workers, and so many more. These individuals are at a substantially higher risk for contracting coronavirus given their inability to quarantine.

To help ease fears by helping monitor mission-critical workers exposed each day, Validic’s COVID-19 Home Monitoring tracks a person’s body temperature, difficulty breathing, cough frequency and oxygen saturation. The solution provides real-time analysis and escalation of critical health data to care management teams, public health officials and/or Human Resource administrators.

COVID-19 Home Monitoring Key Features

In an effort to empower people on the frontlines of this health crisis, the solution is designed for rapid deployment and scale:

• Triage individuals, monitor health metrics and codify next steps

• Bulk enroll thousands of individuals quickly

• Keep tabs on your most vulnerable seniors and those with chronic conditions that are at higher risk

• Automate measurement reminders via text and/or email

• Keep your facility-based services focused on critical cases by monitoring suspected cases remotely

Triggered alerts will notify public health officials, program administrators or clinicians as a person’s symptoms worsen, improve, or remain static – or as a quarantine period ends with no symptoms present.

Providers and HR teams using COVID-19 Home Monitoring deliver automated, near real-time (<60 seconds) evaluation of symptoms and biometrics, at-a-glance view of individuals with active alerts on symptoms or biometrics.

In addition, it identifies individuals who have not checked in or submitted data with a detailed view of all metrics and symptom reports per person, and documents simple notes on conversations and recommendations to each individual including a codified disposition of each encounter (continue monitoring, go for testing, go to clinical venue, etc.

Individuals are emailed a link to provide one-time consent to the COVID-19 monitoring program followed by recurring twice-daily email or text message with simple no-sign-in link to enter biometrics and symptoms.

COVID-19 Home Monitoring Pricing

As health systems, health plans and employers across the country continue to face an urgent need to monitor people for the emerging symptoms of COVID-19, Validic is offering this solution with a flexible, month-to-month plan that ensures organizations can access the platform without financial constraints.

“Given our expertise in personal health data and remote patient monitoring, we’ve been working to quickly develop and launch a custom COVID-19 solution that allows for proactive, remote interventions using real-time data. At no time in recent history has there been a higher imperative FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE to use distance monitoring to keep people alive and healthy,” Drew Schiller, CEO of Validic, said. “Everyone’s safety, especially those individuals who cannot self-isolate – like our emergency responders, nurses, and sanitation workers – need to be a foremost priority, especially at this time. We want all healthcare professionals and employers to be able to leverage industry-leading remote monitoring capabilities to help people impacted by or potentially exposed to coronavirus.”
