XSOLIS Acquires HIPAA Compliant Secure Messaging Platform MEDarchon

– XSOLIS acquires MEDarchon, a health tech firm focused on HIPAA-compliant, real-time secure messaging for hospitals.

– The MEDarchon acquisition will extend its operational impact within the hospital and gives new modalities to support nurses and physicians for XSOLIS.

– MEDarchon clients will experience no immediate change in service or support.

XSOLIS, a Nashville, TN-based company channeling healthcare data into predictive intelligence and action, today announced that it has acquired MEDarchon, a Nashville, TN-based provider of real-time intelligent secure messaging platform for healthcare organizations. For XSOLIS, the acquisition will help extend it’s operational impact within the hospital and gives them new modalities to support nurses and physicians. XSOLIS uses real-time AI to automate the busy work out of utilization review between payers and providers – their SaaS platform is currently live in hospitals and health plans across the nation.

MEDarchon Background

Founded in 2012, MEDarchon was founded with a mission to improve the efficiency and accuracy of healthcare communications. MEDarchon offers real-time, unified clinical communication to better care delivery through its Quarc platform. Quarc is a Web-portal and Smartphone application that significantly improves the process of clinical paging. Currently, communication breakdowns cause 60-70% of the 200,000 fatal medical errors that occur each year in the U.S. What’s more, the available paging solutions feed into this problem as 1 in 7 pages is sent to the wrong individual and over 30% of pages go unanswered within 15 minutes of being sent.

To combat this growing issue, Quarc uses its message prioritization and routing feature to ensure that a message is not only delivered to the appropriate individual but also that it is acted on in an appropriate length of time. Quarc also includes an advanced analytics suite, designed to identify outlier cases and predict if and when a medical error is likely to happen.

Acquisition Benefits for XSOLIS

Similarly, XSOLIS uses real-time clinical data and analytics to better healthcare operations. QUARC’s messaging API allows XSOLIS platform to take in messages or alerts from other systems for any patient update that can be sent from the EMR via HL7 or FHIR (nurse call integration, critical lab values, physician orders).

“XSOLIS offers MEDarchon a partner equally dedicated to innovation and forward momentum,” said Joan Butters, CEO and cofounder of XSOLIS. “Together, our two companies envision a future where real-time data can inform real-time communication to build a smarter future for healthcare.”

The acquisition was finalized on November 15, 2019. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. MEDarchon clients will experience no immediate change in service or support.

“We are thrilled to join XSOLIS as a part of our journey,” said Lyle Beasley, MEDarchon Board Member. “We believe our clients will benefit immensely from the opportunities XSOLIS offers in product and solution development.”
