Merck Manuals Joins Epic App Orchard Marketplace

– Merck Manuals joins Epic App Orchard to directly embed clinical decision support and patient education content within the Epic EHR workflow

– The patient education material can be electronically sent to patients through the EHR system or printed out at the point-of-care.

Merck Manuals, a comprehensive digital medical reference announced it has joined the Epic App Orchard Marketplace, enabling Epic customers with access to provider reference and patient education content within the Epic EHR.

Merck Manuals Infobutton Solution

Available now on the Epic App Orchard marketplace, the Merck Manuals Infobutton Solution directly embeds clinical decision support and patient education information content on symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options on diseases and disorders directly within the Epic EHR workflow.

Clinicians can share this same quality information written in language specifically for consumers. The patient education material can be electronically sent to patients through the EHR system or printed out at the point-of-care.

By enabling clinicians to deliver understandable health information directly to consumers, Merck Manuals serves as a tool for patient education. Merck Manuals content for providers and patients is available in English, Spanish, and eight additional languages. By the end of this year, the content will be available in Arabic.

Why It Matters

“Merck Manuals is committed to making authoritative medical information widely available through content-sharing arrangements with innovators in healthcare,” said Michael Wisniewski, Strategic Partnership Manager for Merck Manuals.  “We are always looking to develop relationships with leading companies and other influential organizations that will increase access to our health information resources, which we share at no charge.”
