DeepHealth Receives FDA Clearance for Remote Scanning Solution, TechLive™

What You Should Know:

– DeepHealth, a subsidiary of RadNet, has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its new remote scanning solution, TechLive™. The vendor-agnostic platform is designed to address the growing radiology technologist shortage by allowing experts to remotely operate and supervise MR, CT, PET/CT, and Ultrasound procedures from a centralized command center.

– The move comes at a critical time for the healthcare industry, which has seen radiology workloads steadily increase without a proportional rise in the number of qualified technologists. This imbalance has led to staffing challenges, inflationary wage pressure, and a potential decrease in patient access to timely and specialized care.

A New Paradigm for Imaging Operations

TechLive™’s core value proposition is its ability to centralize expertise. Instead of being tied to a single machine in one location, a highly skilled technologist can operate equipment at multiple sites simultaneously. This command center configuration allows healthcare facilities to make the most of their existing staff and infrastructure. RadNet has already connected over 300 of its imaging systems with TechLive™, reporting increased operational efficiency and improved access to advanced procedures.

A pilot program at 64 of RadNet’s New York facilities demonstrated the solution’s impact. During the second quarter of 2025, the deployment of TechLive™ contributed to a 42% decrease in MRI room closure hours compared to the same period in 2024. This not only allowed more patients to get timely scans but also contributed to an increase in the number of complex procedures performed.

“TechLive™ represents a paradigm shift in how we approach imaging operations,” said Sham Sokka, PhD, Chief Operating and Technology Officer at DeepHealth. He added that by “enabling real-time remote expertise, we are not only addressing today’s staffing challenges, we are creating a foundation for more efficient, financially sustainable, and high-quality patient care across the broadest set of imaging modalities.”
