Practo, Uber Partner to Help Patients Reach Doctors in India, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore

India-based physician search portal Practo is teaming up with on-demand transportation platform Uber to make it easier for consumers to reach doctors, so they never have to worry about running late for an appointment. Starting this week, patients in India, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines who book an appointment via Practo’s app will be able to see the closest Uber available when they get a reminder alert for their appointments.

How It Works

Using the Practo app, patients can view their estimated fare and how long it will take for their Uber to arrive inside the Practo app. When the car arrives to pick up the patient, the driver will know exactly where to go. The next phase of integration will utilize Uber’s new ride reminders feature that will to notify patients an hour before their appointment so they never have to worry about running late to see their doctor. Patients can then click the reminder notification and complete the booking process. New users can receive up to two free rides with existing users paying up to Rs.200 per ride. The offer is valid till December 31st.

“We want to ensure that we follow our Patient First philosophy and give our patients the best healthcare experience from finding the right doctor to the end of the illness. Millions of users trust our platform every month and over the next 12 months we will take Practo to billions of people globally. We are using Uber’s world class technology to make access to quality health care easier to everyone and will soon extend our partnership into all of the new countries we operate in. Through this strategic collaboration with Uber, patients can now have a hassle free and relaxing experience when traveling to medical centers, ” said Shashank ND, Founder and CEO at Practo in an official statement.
