What You Should Know:

– Microsoft today announced enhanced Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare AI solutions and capabilities that support healthcare organizations in their journey toward shaping healthier futures.

– In addition to expanded healthcare AI capabilities, Microsoft also shared updates on how customers including Providence, Paige.ai, and Cleveland Clinic are leveraging these capabilities.

Shaping a Healthier Future with AI

The technology streamlines workflows, improves data integration and utilizes AI to deliver better outcomes for healthcare professionals and ultimately the patients they all serve. These capabilities enable the following:

  • Healthcare AI Models in Azure AI Studio: Microsoft is launching a collection of multimodal medical imaging foundation models, developed in collaboration with partners like Providence and Paige.ai. These models enable healthcare organizations to integrate and analyze diverse data types, including medical images, genomics, and clinical records, to build and deploy tailored AI solutions.
  • Healthcare Data Solutions in Microsoft Fabric: This unified AI-powered platform allows healthcare organizations to overcome data access challenges and gain a comprehensive view of patient experiences. New capabilities include conversational data integration, social determinants of health (SDOH) data transformation, CMS claim data ingestion, care management analytics, and data discovery and cohorting.
  • Healthcare Agent Service in Copilot Studio: This service enables the development of AI-powered agents for tasks like appointment scheduling, clinical trial matching, and patient triaging. Early adopters, such as the Cleveland Clinic, are already utilizing these innovations to enhance patient experiences and improve operational efficiency.
  • AI-Driven Nursing Workflow Solution: Addressing the global nursing shortage, Microsoft is collaborating with leading healthcare organizations to develop an AI solution that uses ambient technology to automate nursing documentation. This innovation allows nurses to focus more on patient care and less on paperwork.

“We are at an inflection point where AI breakthroughs are fundamentally changing the way we work and live,” said Joe Petro, corporate vice president, Healthcare and Life Sciences Solutions and Platforms at Microsoft. “Across the broader healthcare and life sciences industry, these advancements are dramatically enhancing patient care and also rekindling the joy of practicing medicine for clinicians. Microsoft’s AI-powered solutions are helping lead these efforts by streamlining workflows, improving data integration, and utilizing AI to deliver better outcomes for healthcare professionals, researchers and scientists, payors, providers, medtech developers, and ultimately the patients they all serve.”
