What You Should Know:
– Hippocratic AI, a pioneer in developing safety-focused Large Language Models (LLMs) for healthcare, announced today that it has received a significant investment from NVentures, the venture capital arm of NVIDIA.
– The $17M investment, backed also by Greycroft and Leo Shapiro of 7Wire Ventures, adds to Hippocratic AI’s recent Series A round, bringing the total funds raised to an impressive $137M.
Collaboration with NVIDIA
Hippocratic AI’s partnership with NVIDIA focuses on leveraging cutting-edge technologies to advance the development of safe and effective LLMs for healthcare. By utilizing NVIDIA NIM microservices, Hippocratic AI is scaling its production platform to deliver low-latency and long-context conversational capabilities. The collaboration, which was unveiled earlier this year at the NVIDIA GTC conference, incorporates several techniques specifically designed for real-time, long-context conversational AI, such as prefix caching, speculative decoding, and prefill/decode disaggregation.
Advancing Medical Domain Specialization
In addition to optimizing its platform, Hippocratic AI is also making significant strides in medical domain specialization for LLMs. The company is developing custom automated speech recognition (ASR) technology powered by NVIDIA, fine-tuned to cater to the specific needs of clinician-patient interactions. This advancement holds the promise of improving the accuracy and effectiveness of AI-powered communication in healthcare settings.
“NVIDIA is an ideal collaborator to help us achieve our vision of delivering healthcare abundance,” said Munjal Shah, co-founder and CEO of Hippocratic AI. “Our deep technical collaboration has helped us to build an LLM with extremely low latency leading to more empathetic inference capabilities. Their venture capital arm’s investment in our company demonstrates our shared interest in harnessing the power of generative AI to revolutionize healthcare.”
