Eko Health outfits LSU Athletic Sports Medicine team with CORE 500 digital stethoscopes and AI algorithms for the enhanced detection of cardiac conditions during athlete physical exams

What You Should Know:

– Eko Health, a leader in AI-powered cardiac care, has joined forces with LSU Athletics and Our Lady of the Lake Health to revolutionize heart health care for student-athletes.

– Through this groundbreaking partnership, LSU Athletics becomes the first college sports program to utilize Eko Health’s FDA-cleared CORE 500 digital stethoscopes and AI algorithms for early detection of heart conditions.

AI-Powered Stethoscopes to Enhance LSU Athletics Care

Eko Health’s technology will empower healthcare providers at Our Lady of the Lake Health, LSU Athletics’ Championship Health Partner, to conduct more comprehensive and accurate heart examinations during routine physicals. The AI-powered digital stethoscopes will enable early identification of potential cardiac issues, such as atrial fibrillation and heart murmurs, among LSU student-athletes.

This collaboration aligns with Eko Health’s mission to improve cardiovascular care through innovative technology. By equipping LSU Athletics with advanced diagnostic tools, the partnership aims to enhance the overall well-being and performance of student-athletes.

“Our commitment to providing clinically excellent care for our student-athletes means we’re only using the latest, most-sophisticated technology to help them to perform to the best of their ability,” said Micki Collins, LSU Athletics Associate Athletic Director and Director of Sports Medicine. “Identifying potential heart issues early is essential to ensuring they can safely compete and is emblematic of our dedication to our Core Values. We’re incredibly thankful to the Eko Health team for their generous donation and look forward to deploying their technology across our Sports Medicine team.”
