Plastic Surgery 2021 Industry Trends to Watch

Every industry will experience trends that affect everything from marketing to demand for services. This includes the healthcare industry. However, the plastic surgery industry is unusual for the sheer number of new products and procedures coming out. These may cater to new markets, improve on classic methods, or solve problems that couldn’t be addressed before. Here are the top plastic surgery trends for 2021 and beyond.

A New Focus on Eyes

For many years, eyelid surgeries have been the third most popular procedure after liposuction and breast enhancements. In a world where everyone is wearing face masks, there has been a renewed emphasis on blepharoplasty. After all, there is little point in plumping up your lips if no one sees them. There has been a rise in upper eyelid blepharoplasty to treat sagging eyelids and lower eyelid surgery to remove bags under the eyes. There has also been an increase in demand for under-eye filler and non-surgical brow-lifts.

More Non-Surgical Solutions

Cosmetic surgery is a surgical procedure. There are people whose prescription medications and underlying health conditions make surgery a last resort. Others are reluctant to undergo a surgical procedure. This is why there has been a wave of non-surgical procedures. Things like lip fillers, Botox, and other non-surgical solutions are becoming more popular.

Another exciting development is the use of devices that use radiofrequency energy to break down fat and stimulate muscles. This isn’t just a non-surgical procedure. The fat reduction it causes in 30 days is equivalent to what other procedures achieve in 90 days. Liposculpting combines these fat removal techniques with skin-tightening technologies.

Expanded Use of Botox

Botox has been used to reduce or erase fine lines for years. The most exciting thing about Botox is the sheer number of new applications being found. For example, Botox is being used to weaken the masseter muscle. This is the muscle that drives teeth grinding. The use of Botox can relieve the pain from TMJ as well as soften the harsh lines of an overgrown masseter muscle.

High-Definition Body Sculpting

People aren’t just seeking cosmetic surgery to reduce the signs of aging or the problem areas that diet and exercise can’t seem to resolve. This has led to high-definition liposuction. It allows doctors to melt fat to just a few cells right above the fat, allowing for incredible muscle definition in addition to creating a generally lean look. Many cosmetic surgeons are combining liposuction with treatments that rebuild muscle and renew the skin, too.

Repairing the Damage

If you’re looking for plastic surgery clinics that make a difference in patients’ lives, consider those that are repairing the damage done by prior procedures. For example, women are doing more push-ups and planks. This is increasing the use of the pectoralis muscle. This is a problem if you’ve had traditional breast implants since the standard procedure weakens the muscle by 10% to 20% percent. This is one of the reasons why pectoral repair is becoming commonplace.

Esmella uses electromagnetic energy to tighten the pelvic floor. This treatment was originally used to treat incontinence. It is now being used to strengthen these muscles so that women can improve their posture or even improve sexual wellness.

There are a number of trends in the plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine industry. These include less invasive and higher-quality procedures as well as solutions to the problems created by obsolete cosmetic procedures.
