Valley Health System Becomes First Health System in New Jersey to Prescribe Enterprise-wide Digital Therapeutics

– Valley Health System becomes the first health system in New Jersey to prescribe enterprise-wide digital therapeutics in partnership with Mount Sinai Health System spinoff Rx Health.

– The program will use Rx.Health’s newly-launched RxStitch engine.

Valley Health System (VHS) based in New Jersey announced it will be implemented RxHealth’s digital therapeutics prescribing platform EHR integrated RxStitch Engine to support episodes of care and enterprise-wide digital transformation at VHS. This partnership marks Rx.Health’s entry into the New Jersey healthcare market, making VHS the first health system in the state of New Jersey to prescribe enterprise-wide digital therapeutics.

Deployed Within Just 45 Days

VHS will be utilizing Rx.Health to prescribe digital therapeutics and navigation for multiple initiatives and service-lines including Medicare episodes of care, perioperative support as well as for closure of care gaps in at-risk population. Within just 45 days, Valley Health System has gone from signing the contract with Rx.Health to making digital navigation available to its patients undergoing complex electrophysiological studies and procedures. The digital navigation program will utilize the RxStitch engine, which Rx.Health released earlier this year along with partnership with American Gastroenterological Association and American College of Cardiology.

“It is incredible to see that within 45 days, we have gone from signing the contract to making digital navigation available to our patients undergoing complex electrophysiological studies and procedures.” said Dr. Suneet Mittal, Director of Arrhythmia center. In 2020, we plan to expand the current program to support telemedicine and devices for remote patient monitoring across the entire spectrum of cardiovascular care.”

RxHealth Background

Generally, American health systems remain ill-prepared for the transition from fee-for-service to value-based care. Rx.Health’s goal is to bridge this gap between fee-for-service and value-based care, while enhancing patient outcomes. Rx.Health launched its platform three years ago, which was the first of its kind, and led to the emergence of the new field of digital therapeutics (DTx). In 2019, the team launched the RxStitch engine in order to further unify the fragmented field of digital medicine. The RxStitch engine is one of several components of Rx.Health’s digital therapeutics toolkit. It integrates disparate digital assets in evidence-based patient care pathways across the organization in order to provide a better patient experience, and close care gaps. The engine is used extensively for periprocedure care.

Today, Rx.Health delivers more than 200 digital navigation programs, linked with patient portals, that stitch different digital assets and DTx across the patient journey.
