Clinical Cyber Defense Systems (CCDS) Launches in Boston with a Security Analytics Platform Created by Medical Doctors

– Founded by two medical doctors, Clinical Cyber Defense Systems (CCDS) officially launches in Boston with a new security analytics platform called DYNAMIKANALYTIX.

– CCDS is a healthcare cyber defense systems manufacturer dedicated to protecting hospitals and preserving patient safety.

– CCDS ‘ Active Threat Intelligence (ATI) solutions translate technical security findings into real-time healthcare outcomes so hospital leaders, from the CISO to the CMIO have access to actionable insights at all times.

Clinical Cyber Defense Systems (CCDS), today announces its official company launch with a new security analytics platform named DYNAMIKANALYTIX built for healthcare providers. By combining the practical experience of hospital workflows with the expertise of some of the foremost leaders in the fields of healthcare cyber-crime and cyberwarfare, CCDS is ensuring security data can become a strategic asset for health system leaders.

Growing Impact of Healthcare Data Breaches

With healthcare data breaches tripling between 2017-19, ransomware attacks expected to quadruple by 2020 and recovery costs per breach rising above $1.M, hospital leaders are expected to form robust, proactive defensive strategies now more than ever. When it comes to healthcare, cybersecurity is more than just technology. For hospitals and technology suppliers it’s about patient safety and financial resiliency.

Security Built by Physicians

Founded by medical doctors Dr. Saif Abed and Dr. Alexander Graham, CCDS is addressing these challenges providing services and manufacturing solutions that are optimized for use by healthcare leaders. CCDS’ platforms provide insights ranging from clinical and operational risks stemming from health IT systems all the way to financial and regulatory exposures.

DYNAMIKANALYTIX: Clinically Based Security Analytics

DYNAMIKANALYTIX has been developed by a team of medical doctors and security experts to help hospitals, EHR providers, medical devices, and security operations translate their technical security data into actionable clinical and business risk insights. DYNAMIKANALYTIX detects vulnerabilities across a hospital’s digital ecosystem and applies clinically-based contextual logic to translate traditional technical vulnerability scores into a series of clinically relevant metrics and business risk visualizations. The platform has been developed so that hospital executives without any security knowledge can log-in and immediately understand their risk profile whether it is in terms of patient safety or potential financial losses.

The platform includes:

System Scan: ANALYTIX scans all the hardware and software that underpins your access to critical clinical and business applications

Vulnerability Ranking: The ANALYTIX ATI Engine ranks all the vulnerabilities found in your ecosystem based on technical risk first

Clinical Analysis: Next, each technical data point is transformed into a tangible clinical and business risk score using our proprietary CLINICAL ATI algorithms

Early Warning Display: Finally, your clinical, organizational, financial and regulatory risk profiles are displayed through an intuitive command and control dashboard

Why It Matters

“We’re passionate about preserving patient safety across US healthcare and that means we have to give hospital leaders the ability to take quick decisions with the right data, at the right time. A single glance at a dashboard should be enough for any executive from the CEO and the CMIO to the CIO and CISO to find out exactly where the organization stands when it comes to cybersecurity risks and why,” said Dr Saif Abed, CEO.

“My experience of dealing with healthcare as a national security issue has shown me that data breaches are the tip of the iceberg. Attackers are becoming more sophisticated and won’t hesitate to endanger patient care at scale, if it suits their motives. We’re here to arm hospital executives so they can defend their organizations by understanding exactly which risks matter,” added Abed.
