4th Annual Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge Kicks Off

Accenture, today kicked off the application period for the fourth annual Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge, which aims to support innovative approaches and solutions for improving the way people access, manage and finance healthcare in North America. Since its inception, the Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge has received more than 2,200 applicants and invited more than 90 digital health startups to compete. Emerging healthcare technology innovators and disruptors that provide their services and solutions in North America are encouraged to apply for the program by clicking here.

3 Focus Areas for Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge

The three categories for this year’s Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge are:

– Operational Efficiency: This includes solutions that look to increase enterprise efficiency and core day-to-day processes. Examples include back-office solutions, patient, data and distribution management.

– Increased Access: This encompasses solutions that expand access to services and treatments for health organizations. Examples include virtual care, digital therapeutics, home, and remote healthcare delivery models.

– Consumer Experience: Solutions in this category should focus on creating positive consumer experiences. Examples include solutions that improve wellbeing, care coordination, disease prevention and chronic condition management.

Key Criteria for Applicants

Applicants must be focused on healthcare organization buyers. Health organizations are defined as public health entities, private payers, provider systems, delivery networks, retail health companies and organizations that participate in health care delivery and payment ecosystem.

Key criteria for applicants include solution innovations, solution design quality, disruptive business models, and solution scalability. Important Timeline Dates

Selected finalists will present to an exclusive panel of judges comprised of senior executives from globally recognized health companies at one of two regional events held in Boston on Nov. 7 or in San Francisco on Dec. 5. If selected as a finalist, the final judging event will take place in Houston on Feb. 6, 2020.

“The Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge helps us discover and engage with the very best digital health startups – companies that are helping tackle some of the key challenges healthcare faces today,” said Jonathan R. Slotkin, M.D., FAANS, associate chief medical informatics officer and clinical professor of neurosurgery at Geisinger Health System. “The event also provides a forum for us to connect with other healthcare leaders and companies to collaboratively shape the evolution of the healthcare industry.”
