Accountable care organizations (ACOs) using Lightbeam technology have generated over $300M in savings over the last three performance years, since the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) began. Lightbeam’s platform facilitates end-to-end population health management for ACOs, payers, provider groups, health systems and other healthcare organizations aspiring to provide superior care at a lower cost.
Over the life of the program, Lightbeam clients generated an average shared savings amount that is 57% higher than non-Lightbeam ACOs. In addition to realized savings, Lightbeam clients generated an average quality score of 99% which is also far higher than non-Lightbeam ACOs.
Established through the Affordable Care Act, the MSSP facilitates coordination and cooperation among providers that form ACOs to improve the quality of care and reduce unnecessary costs. A total of 432 ACOs participated in the 2016 MSSP program, generating more than $651 million in CMS total savings.
As the shared savings program has evolved, so have the needs of our clients. To see our ACOs continue to deliver large amounts of savings and achieve the highest levels of quality scores year after year is exciting and motivating,” said Pat Cline, CEO of Lightbeam Health Solutions in a statement. “To know our clients are consistently earning more is impressive, but we’re especially proud of the quality scores since they help reflect the quality of care received by patients. Our holistic approach to value-based care has proven to be a differentiator in this market. It takes technology, processes, and people working together to create sustainable success. We are honored to support providers, organizations, and all healthcare stakeholders in achieving lasting results.”
