Healthcare IT security firm Imprivata has acquired the identity and access management division of Caradigm, a GE Healthcare company. Preventing fraud has become a top concern, and authentication demands are driving rapid adoption among healthcare organizations. Caradigm provides a range of Identity and Access Management solutions, including Governance, Risk Management and Compliance and Clinical and IT Efficiency solutions such as single sign-on and multi-factor authentication to over 100 healthcare organizations globally.
The acquisition will help strengthen authentication and access Management platform for the healthcare enterprise to accelerate the development of new capabilities that will improve provider productivity while reducing security risks and operational IT cost for hospitals and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) around the globe. Caradigm will continue to operate as a population health company dedicated to improving patient care, advancing the health of populations and reducing healthcare costs. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
