Samsung, Nestlé Partner on Digital Health, Nutrition Collaboration

Samsung Strategy and Innovation Center and Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences has announced a digital health collaboration to harness the healthcare IoT and nutrition science to provide deep insights into healthy living. As part of the partnership,  both parties will work towards the development of a new digital health platform to provide more personal and meaningful insights that inspire healthy living.

Nestlé , Samsung Collaboration Details

The digital health collaboration aims to combine  Samsung ARTIK™ IoT platform, scientifically validated bio sensors, advanced multi-modal technology, and Nestlé’s comprehensive nutritional approach to provide people with entirely new awareness into health and wellness. Additionally, it will empower individuals to better manage their own health and well-being by providing relevant and contextual recommendations around nutrition, lifestyle, and fitness, to help individuals live healthier and better lives.

No specific details about the potential platform are available right now, but more details will be expected when first pilots kick off in early 2017.

“We’re excited about the breakthroughs this collaboration will bring,” said Young Sohn, President and Chief Strategy Officer, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. “Today, we live in an era of smarter living brought about by the convergence of technology and life science. It’s an era where the data from smart sensors and devices in our daily life such as mobile phones, wearables, and smart refrigerators can help us to understand our nutrition and activity and to guide us towards a healthier lifestyle.”
