Practice Fusion Appoints Tom Langan as Permanent CEO

Tom Langan

Practice Fusion, the cloud-based EHR platform has appointed Tom Langan as its permanent Chief Executive Officer. Langan has been interim CEO of Practice Fusion since August of this year, replacing Ryan Howard who assumed the position of Chairman of the Board. This also follows Langan’s appointment as a member of Practice Fusion’s Board of Directors in September of this year, a role which he will continue to fill following his appointment as permanent CEO.

“Practice Fusion has been a transformational force for modernizing healthcare over the past 10 years,” said Langan. “It’s an incredible honor to lead our team as we continue to serve community medicine and connect labs, hospitals, imaging centers and payers to our community of providers and users through our cloud-based platform. As we head into 2016, our mission of driving better health and saving lives by connecting doctors, patients and data is being realized in innovative new technology. I couldn’t be more pleased to continue leading the team.”

Tom Langan joined Practice Fusion in July of 2014 from Symphony Health Solutions, where he served as its chief commercial officer responsible for managing the growth of the health care data, analytics, and consulting businesses and also previously served as the chief commercial officer of MediMedia. Over the last year, Tom has been critical to driving the company’s vision of a connected health care ecosystem by bringing new opportunities for collaboration with key industry partners and clients, as well as launching and developing new products such as medication adherence, clinical decision support, real world evidence studies, life science marketing and enterprise solutions, and new population health management (PHM) programs in the areas of weight management, asthma, COPD, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.
