Independa, the leader in senior-facing remote care technology, and Kendal at Home, the leader in continuing care at home services, today announced the implementation of Independa’s CloudCare solution to Kendal’s senior members.

Independa pioneered the integrated cloud-based approach to deliver a unique senior-facing remote care model that addresses the needs of organizations that serve older adults, allowing them to engage with technology that is easy to use and integrated into their day-to-day lives. Independa’s growth and market success have been driven by the ability of its cloud-based solutions to meet the increased demand to help older adults live independently longer, safer, and more comfortably – all through innovative yet easy to deploy and use enterprise remote care solutions.

Remote Care Technology Leader Independa Partners with Kendal at Home

“We are excited to partner with Independa to enhance our ability to provide Kendal at Home members with tools which will enhance their ability to remain independent via access to Independa’s intuitive and unique remote care technology,” said Lynne Giacobbe, Executive Director at Kendal at Home. “We explored the market for best technology solutions that would fit our needs, and knew we found our partner the moment we saw their differentiated approach and solutions.”  Giacobbe continued, “Kendal at Home members are excited about this initiative which will provide a much more comprehensive approach to integrating technology and providing members with a much needed upgrade from their single point solution of older PERS devices to a new, user-friendly and integrated solution spanning all aspects of care, including social engagement, all embedded in and delivered through their new LG commercial TVs. The cost effective monthly subscription enhances our ability to provide technology enabled independent living to members that helps them age successfully in their own homes and lead more engaged, fulfilling lives.”

“Independa is enhancing Kendal at Home’s ability to help members successfully age in place at home safely and comfortably, while also continuing to enjoy a vibrant and socially connected life,” said Kian Saneii, CEO, Independa. “Coupled with our remote care technology, we are also providing Great Call’s 5-Star Urgent Response mobile personal systems to all Kendal at Home members that will allow members to be instantly located at the click of a button.”

Continuing Care at Home (CCaH) is a growing care model in the US that allows older adults to age in place with the benefit of coordinated services and oversight of a professional care manager.  CCaH programs can cover certain daily benefits for private duty home care, as needed, and even assisted living and skilled nursing if the member simply cannot remain in their home. Traditional CCRCs and other senior living providers are quickly realizing the potential to provide services outside of their walls and are seeking ways to capture clients that may never move into a retirement community.

The Independa Enterprise solution compliments CCaH by allowing the “circle of care” to remotely monitor the member’s health and safety and to be notified when something isn’t quite right.  The Independa CloudCare solution helps caregivers to catch small problems before they are exacerbated, allowing the member to remain as independent and healthy as possible while remaining at home. In addition, Independa provides automatic reminders for medications, calendar events and activities of daily living as well as socially connects the senior through easy to use Skype, Facebook, photo sharing & email.
