The Sixth Annual National Health IT Week kicked off today with a Capital Hill Steering Committee on Telehealth and Healthcare Informatics Technology Showcase. The annual collaborative forum where public and private healthcare constituents will work in partnership to educate industry and policy stakeholders on the value of health IT for the US healthcare system. There is no better time for the health IT community to come together under one umbrella to raise national awareness!
Comprehensive health care reform is not possible without system-wide adoption of health information technology, which improves the quality of healthcare delivery, increases patient safety, decreases medical errors, and strengthens the interaction between patients and healthcare providers.
With Meaningful Use now providing the way forward, eligible providers across the country increasingly understand the benefits for themselves and their patients, and are adopting Meaningful Use compliant electronic health records.
The following is a list of the agenda and activities for the week. Opportunities to attend virtually are available for certain events.
