What You Should Know:

– MDI NetworX, a leader in healthcare business process solutions, today announced the acquisition of Cobalt MedPlans (Clarity Performance Solutions) from Cobalt Health Solutions. The transaction was executed with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC), the wholly-owned subsidiary of which, Cobalt Health Solutions, owned Cobalt MedPlans.

– The deal significantly expands MDI’s U.S. footprint and will integrate its AI-enabled SaaS platform, InsightPro, to enhance claims processing and call center services for payer clients.

Strategic Acquisition Deepens Onshore Delivery Capabilities

MDI NetworX’s strategic acquisition of Cobalt MedPlans (Clarity Performance Solutions) from Cobalt Health Solutions marks a pivotal step in accelerating its growth strategy in the U.S. The acquisition immediately strengthens MDI’s ability to deliver a full range of payer services—including claims processing, enrollment, and member and provider call center services—directly from U.S. delivery centers.

Key impacts of the transaction include:

  • Workforce Expansion: Approximately 250 U.S.-based employees from Cobalt MedPlans will join MDI, bringing the global workforce to over 7,500.
  • Geographic Expansion: Adds two new Kansas locations—in Overland Park and Fort Scott—to MDI’s domestic operations.
  • Client Base: Cobalt MedPlans has a strong reputation serving leading national and regional Blues plans and other payer organizations for over 25 years.

AI-Enabled Automation to Drive Payer Value

A key component of this integration will be the implementation of MDI’s AI-enabled SaaS platform, InsightPro. InsightPro combines intelligent workflow automation, advanced analytics, and quality assurance tools to drive measurable improvements in efficiency and cost reduction for payer clients.

Tilak Sharma, CEO of MDI NetworX, stated: “By investing in technology and implementing our InsightPro platform, we will be able to increase throughput, improve accuracy, and reduce administrative costs for payers. This is about combining people, process, and technology to create real value.”

The integration will enable MDI to deliver end-to-end operational solutions, helping healthcare payers scale efficiently, improve service levels, and manage administrative costs more effectively.
