What You Should Know:

– RadNet, Inc., a provider of diagnostic imaging services and digital health solutions, announced the acquisition of CIMAR UK, a provider of cloud-native healthcare image management solutions. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

– CIMAR will be integrated into DeepHealth, RadNet’s wholly owned subsidiary and a global leader in AI-powered health informatics, to significantly advance connected imaging-based care.

CIMAR’s UK Market Dominance and Interoperability

CIMAR’s primary strength is its extensive image management infrastructure, which provides crucial data connectivity and interoperability.

In the UK, CIMAR has established a significant footprint, enabling vendor-neutral solutions, including clinical AI, across:

  • More than 50% of National Health Service (NHS) Trusts.
  • 80% of UK private hospital groups.

The acquisition combines CIMAR’s cloud-native infrastructure and services with DeepHealth’s leading end-to-end informatics and population health applications, such as AI-based reporting and workflow tools. This union is expected to create a richer solution for advancing coordinated and accessible care.

AI-Powered Screening Success and Future Expansion

The complementary technologies have already demonstrated significant success through an existing partnership that underpins the NHS England’s Lung Cancer Screening Program. CIMAR provides the digital infrastructure connecting DeepHealth’s AI lung solution across more than 90% of the program’s screening sites.

This connected, AI-powered program has achieved remarkable results:

  • More than three-quarters (76%) of lung cancers detected are now caught at earlier, more treatable stages.
  • Historically, only 29% of lung cancers were caught at these stages.

With this acquisition, DeepHealth aims to replicate and scale these digitally enabled care models across the UK and Europe for other screening and diagnostic programs.
