What You Should Know:

– GoodRx, a platform for medication savings in the U.S., has announced the availability of its brand medication savings solution, RxSmartSaver powered by GoodRx, at Kroger pharmacies nationwide.

– The collaboration brings medication affordability directly to the pharmacy counter, aiming to improve the patient experience and deliver stronger economics for the retail partner.

Unlocking Instant Savings at 2,200 Kroger Pharmacies

RxSmartSaver is now available at Kroger’s 2,200 pharmacies across 35 states. The solution provides Kroger customers with instant access to GoodRx savings when they are picking up their medications. These savings include copay cards, patient assistance programs, and over 80 unique cash prices for brand medications that are often not covered by insurance or have poor coverage.

Patients can utilize the program simply by scanning a code at the pharmacy counter with their smartphone, entering the RxSmartSaver portal, and then showing the savings to the pharmacist during checkout. This allows for savings on essential treatments such as Dexcom G7, Humira® Biosimilar (ADBM), Lantus®, Ozempic®, and Wegovy®.

Turnkey Solution and Trusted Ally for Retail Pharmacies

RxSmartSaver is designed as a turnkey, ready-to-deploy solution for retail pharmacies. This program benefits all parties involved, strengthening what GoodRx calls the “savings flywheel”:

  • Manufacturers extend the reach of their affordability programs.
  • Pharmacies improve profitability while deepening patient relationships.
  • Consumers gain easier access to more affordable prices for brand medications.

The expansion to Kroger follows the program’s initial launch earlier this year with Midwest-based retailer Hy-Vee.
