What You Should Know:

– Mercy Health System, a healthcare provider, is transforming its imaging services with the help of Aidoc’s aiOS™ platform.

– The AI-powered solution provides an additional layer of review for diagnostic imaging, helping to identify a wide range of potential health issues and incidental findings.

Addressing the Radiologist Shortage

The healthcare industry is facing a growing shortage of radiologists, with increasing demand and complex imaging studies adding to their workload. AI solutions like Aidoc’s aiOS™ platform can help alleviate this burden by automating tasks, improving efficiency, and allowing radiologists to focus on the most critical cases.

The phased rollout of aiOS™, which will be completed in February, will provide patients across Mercy’s network with an extra level of confidence in their diagnostic imaging results. The platform analyzes images to detect suspected conditions such as brain hemorrhage, pulmonary embolism, cervical spine fracture, and lung nodules, as well as flagging potential vascular abnormalities.

Key benefits of Aidoc’s aiOS™ platform include:

Enhanced Diagnostic Accuracy: AI algorithms analyze images to identify potential health issues that may be missed by human review.

Improved Efficiency: The platform automates the identification of critical findings, allowing radiologists to focus on complex cases and improve turnaround times.

Early Detection and Intervention: Real-time insights enable timely intervention and improve patient outcomes.

Increased Patient Confidence: Patients can have greater confidence in their diagnostic imaging results, knowing that their images have undergone a thorough AI-powered review.

No Additional Cost: Mercy is providing this enhanced service to patients at no additional cost, demonstrating its commitment to accessible, high-quality care.

“Mercy has been a leader in AI technologies and this brings imaging into the fold, integrating Aidoc and its aiOS™ platform to continue our commitment to whole-patient care,” said Steve Mackin, Mercy president and CEO. “By empowering our teams with real-time insights and seamless coordination across specialties, this technology ensures we can focus on delivering exceptional care to every patient, every time. It’s a bold leap forward in shaping a future where AI drives both clinical excellence and compassionate care for the patients we serve. Regardless of where your imaging study is done at Mercy, whether at our largest facility or smallest, everyone will get the additional review by AI and any additional findings shared our radiologists and patients.”
