Understanding the Unique Cardiovascular Risks of Retired NFL Players
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death globally. Despite advancements in diagnostics, many heart attacks and strokes occur in individuals without prior symptoms. Early identification of high-risk individuals is critical for effective prevention and treatment. Retired NFL players often face unique cardiovascular health challenges due to the intense physical demands of their careers. The GAMEFILM Registry will enroll approximately 120 former NFL players, including notable alumni like Joel Dreessen and Le-Lo Lang, who will be among the first to receive a comprehensive CAD assessment using HeartFlow’s AI-driven technology.
By leveraging coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) imaging and insights from the HeartFlow ONE platform, including its FDA-cleared FFRCT and Plaque Analysis technologies, the registry will collect valuable data to inform the development of targeted prevention and treatment strategies.
