What You Should Know:

– identifeye HEALTH, a medical diagnostics company pioneering AI and automation in healthcare, has launched the identifeye System, an AI-powered retinal imaging camera designed to improve access to vision care.

– identifeye System aims to integrate retinal imaging into routine healthcare settings, enabling early detection and management of various health conditions.

Expanding Access to Vision Care & Addressing Diabetic Retinopathy

Traditional eye screenings often require visits to specialized eye care centers, creating barriers for many individuals. With only 39% of the U.S. population receiving annual eye exams, identifeye HEALTH is committed to making vision care more accessible.

Despite recommendations for annual eye exams, many diabetics do not receive these crucial screenings. The identifeye System, combined with AI-enhanced DR screening tools, aims to improve screening rates and enable early detection and intervention.

The identifeye System: Simplifying Retinal Imaging

The identifeye System is designed for ease of use and integration into various healthcare settings. Its key features include:

  • User-Friendly Interface: Operated through a simple app, making it accessible to all healthcare professionals.
  • AI-Driven Automation: Automates complex tasks, such as adjusting settings and managing image capture, ensuring consistent, high-quality results.
  • Portability and Convenience: Compact, foldable, and battery-operated design allows for easy transport and use in various settings.
  • Full Stack Integration: Provides greater flexibility for ongoing development and improvement of the system.

The Retina: A Window into Overall Health

The retina, a unique part of the body where blood vessels can be directly visualized, offers valuable insights into systemic health conditions. Changes in the retina can indicate diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Additionally, the retinal nerve fiber layer can reveal information about neurological health, potentially aiding in the early detection of conditions like multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s.

AI-Powered Diagnostics

identifeye HEALTH is leveraging AI to unlock the diagnostic potential of retinal images, aiming to establish the retina as a key non-invasive diagnostic platform. The company’s current focus is on diabetic retinopathy (DR), a leading cause of preventable blindness.

Vicky Demas, CEO of identifeye HEALTH, brings over 25 years of experience building teams and launching transformative products in the healthcare industry. As a founding member of Google Life Sciences (now Verily), Vicky was pivotal in building multidisciplinary science and engineering programs, leading to groundbreaking advancements in AI, diagnostics, and medical devices. After contributing significantly to the development of the multi-cancer early detection test at GRAIL, Vicky joined and rebranded Tesseract to identifeye HEALTH. She is now leading the charge to democratize access to retinal imaging, leveraging AI and automation to unlock the retina’s potential as a powerful diagnostic and wellness platform.
