What You Should Know:

– Accenture Federal Services has been awarded a substantial $190 million contract from the U.S. Department of State.

– The company will provide critical data and systems engineering support to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), a program widely recognized for its success in combating the global HIV/AIDS crisis.

Contract Details

The single award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a base performance period of one year with the option for four additional years. PEPFAR, now in its 20th year, has been instrumental in saving 25 million lives, preventing millions of HIV infections, and significantly contributing to the fight against the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It represents the largest commitment ever made by any nation to tackle a single disease.

Accenture’s Role in Strengthening PEPFAR’s Impact

Accenture Federal Services will play a vital role in ensuring PEPFAR’s continued success by securing health data collection and exchange, enabling real-time analysis of programmatic performance. This data-driven approach will help PEPFAR make informed decisions and optimize its efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and address other emerging global health threats.

Leveraging Technology to Combat Health Threats

Accenture Federal Services will introduce new technologies and architectures into PEPFAR’s data infrastructure. This will empower the program to build upon its achievements and evolve to address new risk groups, confront future health threats, and strive towards eliminating HIV as a public health threat by 2030.

PEPFAR’s Impact and Future

PEPFAR’s impact extends beyond HIV/AIDS. The program has trained over 340,000 healthcare workers in partner countries, enhancing their capacity to provide HIV care and other essential health services. It has also established a robust system to tackle new health challenges like COVID-19.
