Beebe Healthcare to Deploy Epic Enterprise EHR Across Network

What You Should Know:

– Beebe Healthcare, a comprehensive healthcare system serving Sussex County, Delaware, and the surrounding region announced a strategic partnership with Epic, a leading healthcare software company, to implement its enterprise electronic health record (EHR) system. This move aims to deliver a more seamless and integrated care experience for patients across Sussex County.

– Currently, Beebe Healthcare operates on separate EHR platforms for its Medical Group and Oncology Services. By adopting Epic as its single, comprehensive EHR system, Beebe will create a unified patient record, improving care coordination and efficiency.

Epic EHR Impact

Epic’s robust platform, serving over 2,900 hospitals and 280 million patients, was selected due to its strong functional capabilities and high patient satisfaction scores. This transition will enable Beebe to offer a full spectrum of patient health records, including ambulatory health, revenue cycle management, data analytics, and business intelligence, all within a single system.

Implementation Timeline

The implementation of Epic is expected to be completed by 2025. Patients do not need to take any action at this time.

“Beebe’s transformational journey involves preparing an advanced healthcare delivery system to meet the growing needs of our patients. This is a significant moment to launch us into a future that will impact every aspect of our strategic plan and create a more patient-centered and comprehensive community healthcare system,” said David A. Tam, MD, MBA, CPHE, FACHE, President & CEO, Beebe Healthcare. “Aligning our EHR solution with the needs of our patients, clinicians, and caregivers will ensure the very safest and highest quality of care for Sussex County.”
