The Imprivata Report on the Economic Impact of Inefficient Communications in Healthcare

Imprivata,  a healthcare IT security company, today announced that it has successfully completed Zebra Technologies’Validated Program for Imprivata Mobile Device Access, healthcare’s only mobile authentication solution that enables fast, secure access to clinical mobile devices and applications. This designation indicates to customers and partners that Imprivata Mobile Device Access was successfully tested – confirming its performance and functionality with select Zebra® devices.

The Imprivata-Zebra solution allows users to access Zebra’s clinical mobile devices with the simple tap of a proximity badge, then single sign-on into their applications. This gives clinicians the same fast, efficient, and familiar authentication workflow they currently experience on workstations and virtual desktops with Imprivata OneSign®.

Zebra Technologies’ Validated Program is part of the PartnerConnect ISV program and enables eligible channel partners to test the interoperability of their software solutions with select Zebra mobile computers, scanners, printers, RFID readers, payment systems, and mobility management software products, meet user application-specific needs, and reduce both the risk and the deployment time for the user.

Working closely with Zebra engineering teams, Imprivata has tested for interoperability its Mobile Device Access solution with select products, including the innovative Zebra TC51-HC, to remove repetitive manual password entry with a badge tap to gain access.

“Healthcare organizations will derive great value from our solution’s validation from Zebra because it gives them better control over security and the sharing of personal health information,” said Rod Hodgman, Vice President of Business Development at Imprivata. “Imprivata Mobile Device Access delivers real ROI to healthcare organizations because it helps them optimize their investments in mobile hardware without compromising security of PHI or usability and accessibility for clinicians.”

In addition, Imprivata has also completed Zebra Technologies’ Validated Program for Imprivata Cortext®, the secure communications platform for healthcare that streamlines care coordination and improves communication efficiency with HIPAA-compliant secure messaging, by allowing physicians, nurses, and patients to connect, communicate, and collaborate securely from any workstation or mobile device.
