Parker_1Arcadia Healthcare Solutions, an EHR data aggregation and analytics technology solutions provider for health systems, provider groups, ACOs, and health plans, is pleased to announce that Dr. Richard Parker will be joining the executive team as Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Parker will provide his strategic and clinical expertise to Arcadia’s clients managing the transition from a fee-for-service to a fee-for-value environment as well as internal product and engineering teams as they continue to develop the market-leading Arcadia Analytics technology platform.

Prior to joining Arcadia, Dr. Parker served as Chief Medical Officer for the Beth Israel Deaconess Care Organization (“BIDCO”), a value-based, physician and hospital network headquartered in Westwood, Massachusetts. BIDCO contracts with 2,300 physicians, including nearly 550 primary care physicians and more than 1,750 specialists. During Dr. Parker’s tenure, BIDCO was the highest performing ACO in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and ranked third nationally in the 2013 reporting year. Dr. Parker’s medical specialty is internal medicine, practicing within the Beth Israel Deaconess system for 27 years.

“Having spent three decades in an industry that is undergoing massive transformations and shifts, I am excited to join Arcadia’s experienced team of technologists, clinical practice consultants and strategic leaders to continue driving change in the industry,” said Dr. Parker. “Given the recent ruling on King vs. Burwell, its evident that now is the time for providers to more deeply understand the risks, costs and health of the patients they care for. It’s no secret that by and large the patients who have exchange-based insurance are generally higher risk and, therefore, costlier than others and its critical for providers to focus on how to attain good quality patient data to understand the real patient risks and subsequently make the correct clinical care choices. In joining Arcadia, I look forward to driving towards an environment where providers are able to deliver valuable and efficient care based on detailed data that capture the full view of individual patients and entire populations.”

Dr. Parker earned an undergraduate degree from Harvard University, and did his medical training at the Alpert Medical School at Brown University and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College.

Founded in 2002, the Burlington, MA-based company helps ambulatory networks affiliated with large payer and provider organizations, including health plans, accountable care organizations, integrated delivery networks, and large physician groups maximize their value from fragmented provider networks through:

– EHR Consulting/Outsourcing which includes hosting, a local call center, field support, implementations, and optimizations.

– Data Integration & Population Analytics that provides the technology to connect to different data sources, aggregate the data centrally, and provide standard reports and measures for care management, care gap, registry and cost management.

– Practice Transformation & Coaching featuring trained clinicians and practice coaches assess practice health, provide structured change processes, support workflow changes, and care team re-design.

In April, the company raised $13M in funding led by private equity firm Peloton Equity with participation by existing investors and Zaffre Investments, a subsidiary of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
