Practice Fusion

Today, cloud-based EHR provider Practice Fusion and Quest Diagnostics, has announced a partnership agreement that will allow a tip-to-tail electronic lab test ordering and management for Practice Fusion’s community of more than 112,000 medical professionals.

Partnership Details

Beginning as early as the first quarter of 2015, providers that use the Practice Fusion EHR and receive results electronically from Quest Diagnostics will also be able to place laboratory test orders electronically to a Quest Diagnostics clinical laboratory. Once lab testing is complete, results will be transmitted to the provider’s Practice Fusion EHR directly. Physicians also have the option to share test results with their patients through Patient Fusion, the consumer-facing portal.

Quest Diagnostics serves approximately one in three American adults and half of all physicians and hospitals. Its industry-leading menu includes specialty services for cancer, infectious diseases and neurology as well as wellness and other routine testing. “The partnership with Practice Fusion will provide an additional avenue through which physicians can order our services directly from within the Practice Fusion EHR,” said Ines A Dahne, VP Healthcare Information Technology, Quest Diagnostics. “

“American healthcare is undergoing a seismic shift in how doctors, patients and data connect to speed the delivery and efficiency of patient care,” said Ryan Howard, founder and CEO, Practice Fusion. “As the largest cloud-based EHR company in the country, no one is more connected than we are.  This new expanded agreement with Quest Diagnostics can translate into better, faster and more efficient care for the five million patient visits logged on our platform every month.”
