Blueprint Health, an NYC based healthcare technology seed accelerator showcased their fourth class of nine startups during Demo Day in NYC. This current class is an impressive diverse group of entrepreneurs, ranging from a first time entrepreneur in college to a serial entrepreneur with 3 successful health tech exits and 26 years of industry experience from 8 different cities.
From Genterpret , which enables correlations of clinical and genetic data to find genetic variants that impact drug efficacy to Healthify, which helps healthcare organizations increase outcome-based reimbursements by addressing the social determinants that affect their patients’ health, Blueprint Health’s fourth class is focused on solving some of the key pain points in healthcare.
Another impressive highlight of this current class is over half of the startups had revenue prior to starting the 3 month program, a critical selling point when pitching to a room of full of potential investors during Demo Day.

Winter 2014 Class Announcement
In addition to Demo Day, Blueprint Health also announced it is accepting applications for their Winter 2014 class that starts January 13 of next year. The application deadline is November 27th. Atermis – Led by Grant Gordon, Dallen Allred, and Dallin Regehr, Artemis helps self-insured employers reduce healthcare spending by turning their health claims and assessment data into actionable insights that reduce healthcare expenses. Artemis anticipates 350,000 lives on the platform by the end of 2013.
BoardVitals – Led by Daniel Lambert and Andrea Paul, MD, BoardVitals is the leading online provider of study resources for the Medical Specialty Boards. The company aggregates content from publishers, research facilities, and top physicians from across the country to create robust, dynamic question banks. Physicians that use the platform achieve 10% higher board pass rates over the national average. BoardVitals is growing 30% per month and hit $30k in monthly revenue in August.
CredSimple – Led by Mike Simmons, Sam Meyer, and Dr. Garry Choy, CredSimple helps hospitals and health insurers automate the medical credentialing of their providers. Medical credentialing is a mandated process to insure that physicians are qualified to practice and often relies on manual processes such as the phone, fax or spreadsheets. CredSimple delivers a technology-enabled-service to health plans and hospitals for simple, fast, and continuous provider verification. The platform reduces costs by up to 50% and dramatically decreases turnaround time. CredSimple is in advanced discussions with multiple hospitals and insurance companies.
Genterpret – Led by Harvard Systems Biology Ph.D.’s Daniel Lieber and Steve Hershman, Genterpret helps pharmaceutical companies gain access to rich genetic and clinical datasets for a fraction of the standard market cost. Genterpret enables correlations of clinical and genetic data to find genetic variants that impact drug efficacy. They are currently engaged with a top 5 multinational pharmaceutical.
ReferBright – Led by serial entrepreneurs David Murray and Brett Larkin, ReferBright is the first comprehensive digital marketing platform for 2.1m health practitioners. With ReferBright, occupational therapists, nutritionists, fitness trainers, and others can maintain and market their services across multiple web sites and cultivate new referral sources, all from one place. Currently, ReferBright has over 100 active paying customers and is in the process of on-boarding 6,000 practitioners by the end of 2013.
Healthify – Led by Manik Bhat, Eric Conner, Alex Villa, Dan Levenson, and James Corines, Healthify helps healthcare organizations increase outcome-based reimbursements by addressing the social determinants that affect their patients’ health. Healthify’s platform allows providers to better track and manage patient social risks, decreasing readmission rates and emergency room utilization, while improving outcome based metrics and reimbursement rates. Healthify is working with Johns Hopkins Healthcare (220,000 patients), Evergreen Health Coop, and Montefiore Care Management Company.
SpotMe – Led by Jarrod Wolf, Gabriel Priyev, and William Underwood, SpotMe’s Activity Spending Accounts make it easy for employers to offer and manage a fitness benefit for their employees. SpotMe takes care of all administration, including verification and reimbursement, and rewards employees for attending any fitness facility, race, or fitness related event. SpotMe has launched at 5 companies and is set to deploy to 20 more by the end of the year.
StaffInsight – Led by serial workforce management entrepreneur Chris Laibe, StaffInsight addresses the need for continuous improvement in healthcare productivity. StaffInsight spotlights labor inefficiencies and creates accountability in management to achieve performance benchmarks and stay competitive. Facilities that use the platform achieve 2% to 4% productivity improvements, equating to $1.5M per 100 beds. StaffInsight signed up 7 new facilities in July and August and will reach $150k in revenue in 2013.
WellTrackOne – Led by 5-time entrepreneur Peter Bechtel, WellTrackOne enables primary care physicians to earn significant additional income by performing Medicare Annual Wellness visits. WellTrackOne’s full service solution handles all patient outreach, scheduling, evaluation, and automatically processes Medicare’s strict compliance reporting, allowing the physician to focus on practicing medicine. Over 200 physicians are already using their service, as well as CareMore/WellPoint, Virginia Physicians, Harbin Clinic, and United Physicians ACO.
