2013’s Top 10 Native & Virtualized EHR Mobile Applications

Black Book Rankings has released rankings of the top EHR mobile applications in their latest “2013 State of Replacement EHR Market Study,” the most recent in a series of Black Book™ strategic industry reports focused on the health  technology market. The report is a follow up assessment on the status of electronic health record users, all of which indicated deal-breaking dissatisfaction with the current vendor, termed the “Year of the Great EHR Switch” in a previous Black Book poll.

The overall key findings indicates many EHR firms have been so busy with backlogged implementations and selling product that development issues are being neglected. EHR users have been frustrated with unmet demands for interfaces with other practice programs, complex connectivity and networking schemes, pacing with accountable care progresses, and the rapid EHR adoption of mobile devices.

The findings show that 75% of respondents view the adoption of mobile devices including iPad, iPhone, Android and tablets as a “must have” in 2013 beyond basic EHR functionality.

Background

Each year, the Brown-Wilson Group invites EHR users to evaluate over 600 medical software and service providers, including 480 EHRs. Responses from 16,800 medical professionals, IT specialists and other EHR users are used to rank vendors across key performance indicators, including training, reliability and trust.
