Wellinks Raises $10M to Scale Predictive Cardiopulmonary RPM

What You Should Know

  • New Haven-based cardiopulmonary digital health provider Wellinks closed a $10M first tranche of its Series B funding round.
  • The financing was led by strategic partner UMass Memorial Health alongside participation from existing inside investors.
  • Wellinks’ FDA-cleared Spire Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) System and proprietary Health Tags deliver passive, continuous physiological tracking to predict clinical deterioration up to one week before symptom onset.
  • Clinical evidence from the joint “Healthy at Home” study with UMass Chan Medical School showed participants experienced over 60% lower odds of 30-day hospital readmission for COPD.
  • Capital proceeds will fund commercial footprint expansion into rural/underserved markets, advance predictive analytics engines, and extend the care model into Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).

Wellinks Continuous Predictive Care Framework

Wellinks has secured $10M in the first close of its Series B financing to expand its virtual care and remote patient monitoring platform nationwide. Led by long-time commercial partner UMass Memorial Health alongside existing venture investors, the funding will fuel the company’s expansion into congestive heart failure (CHF) and support broader commercial deployment.

Managing chronic cardiopulmonary conditions like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and CHF remains a persistent challenge for health systems, driving high rates of preventable 30-day hospital readmissions and emergency department visits. Traditional care models often rely on periodic office visits or manual patient self-reporting, allowing physiological decline to go unnoticed until acute symptoms require emergency intervention.

Wellinks addresses these care gaps by pairing passive wearable sensing technology with predictive analytics. The platform utilizes the FDA-cleared Spire RPM system and proprietary Health Tags to continuously monitor physiological data, detecting subtle biomarker deviations up to seven days before a patient experiences overt symptoms.

In a joint “Healthy at Home” study conducted with UMass Chan Medical School, COPD patients monitored through the Wellinks platform demonstrated over 60% lower odds of 30-day hospital readmissions compared to standard care cohorts. Building on these results in respiratory care, Wellinks is utilizing the new capital to adapt its algorithmic decision-support tools for high-risk CHF populations and expand access in underserved and rural areas facing specialist shortages.

“Our continued collaboration with Wellinks reflects a shared commitment to advancing proactive, data-driven care,” said Dr. Eric Dickson, CEO at UMass Memorial Health. “Together, we’re generating real-world clinical evidence that supports better outcomes for patients and informs the future of cardiopulmonary care.”
