Karoo Health Secures $16.2M to Build Cardiovascular OS Infrastructure

What You Should Know

  • Cardiovascular technology platform Karoo Health has closed a $16.2M Series A funding round co-led by 7wire Ventures and Allumia Ventures, with participation from First Trust Capital Partners, SpringRock Ventures, and Hyde Park Angels.
  • Lee Shapiro (Managing Partner, 7wire Ventures) and Jeff Stolte (Managing Partner, Allumia Ventures) join Karoo Health’s Board of Directors.
  • Karoo provides an AI-native connective platform that integrates clinical EHRs, claims history, pharmacy records, and care team inputs to enable early cardiac risk detection and coordinated care delivery.
  • Independent analyses of deployed Karoo programs show over 40% reductions in emergency department visits and inpatient admissions, as well as a greater than 10% reduction in total cost of care across attributed populations.
  • Karoo currently supports more than 600 cardiology providers across 11 states alongside partnerships with major national and regional health plans.

Predictive Signal Detection and Multi-Stakeholder Integration

At the center of Karoo Health’s platform is a unified data and workflow layer engineered to break down institutional silos:

  • Integrated Signal Detection: Connects clinical EHR feeds, pharmacy fulfillment data, and claims history to surface early warning indicators of worsening heart failure or cardiovascular risk.
  • Care Coordination Infrastructure: Coordinates workflows between primary care physicians, independent cardiologists, and health plan care managers to ensure consistent chronic disease management.
  • Actionable Population Analytics: Enables cardiology groups to manage risk-bearing contracts while driving measurable reductions in total cost of care.

“We’re at a seminal moment in our country’s fight against cardiovascular disease,” stated Ian Koons, CEO and Cofounder of Karoo Health. “We intend to use this capital to take another major step toward becoming the solution that enables every American to access earlier, more coordinated, and more effective cardiovascular care.”
