WellSky Launches AI Ambient Listening in Specialty Care EHR to Cut Documentation Time by 41%

What You Should Know

  • The Expansion: WellSky is expanding its partnership with Google Cloud to embed advanced generative AI capabilities directly into its CarePort solutions.
  • The Tech Stack: The integration utilizes Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, Gemini models, and BigQuery to overhaul the underlying data infrastructure of post-acute provider networks.
  • The Solution: The AI integration continuously updates this provider data in real time, validating changes without requiring post-acute staff to constantly submit manual updates.

The Challenge of Static Directories

Hospitals rely heavily on provider directories to guide patients to appropriate post-acute care (PAC) facilities. However, maintaining up-to-date information on provider locations, services, and insurance acceptance is a persistent industry challenge, often leading to manual verification and delays in patient throughput.

Intelligent, Real-Time Validation

By embedding Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, Gemini models, and BigQuery, WellSky is moving the industry from static databases to intelligent, continuously validated data infrastructure.

Key capabilities of the AI-powered CarePort solutions include:

  • Continuous Updates: Real-time reflection of changes in provider services, coverage areas, and insurance acceptance.
  • Precise Matching: Matching patients with post-acute providers based on real-time availability, clinical expertise, and specific payer requirements.
  • Reduced Administrative Burden: Minimizing the need for manual data updates by PAC organizations, ensuring their profiles are correctly reflected without constant human intervention.

“This marks a major industry shift,” said Bill Miller, chairman and CEO of WellSky. “By bringing together WellSky’s network and Google Cloud’s AI, we’re enabling hospitals to make smarter discharge decisions and strengthening outcomes for both providers and patients”.
