WellSky Launches AI-Powered Referral Intake Solution to Streamline Post-Acute Care

What You Should Know:

– WellSky, a global health and community care technology company, has launched the next-generation WellSky CarePort Referral Intake solution.

– The new platform combines features from its previous CarePort and Curaspan solutions with modern, AI-powered capabilities to streamline intake workflows and generate document summaries, enabling faster referral response times. Quick responses to patient referrals are crucial for post-acute providers to secure business, ensure smooth care transitions, strengthen relationships with referral partners, and improve patient outcomes.

AI-Powered Summaries and Centralized Data

The new solution uses WellSky Summarize, a WellSky SkySense AI™ tool that scans referral packets, extracts key patient information, and creates a concise, easy-to-read summary in seconds. This helps providers quickly assess patient needs and respond faster. Debbie Bobe, vice president of business development at The New Jewish Home, noted that the AI-generated clinical summaries are helping her team review and respond to referrals more quickly and efficiently, which enhances their ability to serve patients with greater speed and precision. This, in turn, helps hospital partners reduce their length of stay and entrust more complex cases to her team.

Beyond AI summaries, the solution streamlines intake from various referral sources, including eFax and other hospital care transition systems. It provides a centralized view of all referral data, allowing providers to monitor referral volume, response times, and patient placements in real-time. The platform’s advanced analytics also reveal engagement trends and conversion rates, helping organizations identify patterns and refine their strategies to become smarter, stronger referral partners.

“In today’s fast-paced healthcare landscape, post-acute providers must move quickly and decisively to stay ahead,” said WellSky chairman and CEO Bill Miller. “That’s why we built the WellSky CarePort Referral Intake solution—to give providers a competitive edge that helps them grow their organizations while delivering better outcomes for the patients they serve.”
