What You Should Know:

– Infinitus and IBM Consulting have announced a new collaboration to bring agentic AI into  specialty pharmacy and other healthcare entities on a large scale.

– The partnership will leverage IBM’s expertise to streamline complex administrative and clinical conversations, helping patients get on therapy faster and stay on for the long term.

Streamlining Workflows and Saving Time

By implementing agentic AI into specialty pharmacy workflows, Infinitus aims to create a more personalized experience for patients, clinicians, and support teams. As an example of their success, a leading specialty pharmacy has already seen a dramatic reduction in the time it takes to complete tasks like benefit verification and prior authorization follow-up. These tasks, which previously took days, can now be completed in just a few hours.

In the first half of 2025 alone, Infinitus completed over 60,000 such tasks for this partner. Each benefit verification call saved the specialty pharmacy’s staff an average of 29 minutes, which would have otherwise been spent on the phone with payor agents or on hold.

Building Trust Through Secure AI

The collaboration between Infinitus and IBM Consulting is focused on delivering a model that meets the specific demands of healthcare, with a strong emphasis on quality, security, and compliance. By working together, the companies are helping specialty pharmacies to:

  • Reduce cycle times for prior authorizations and benefit verifications.
  • Ensure patients gain faster access to therapies and financial assistance.
  • Build trust through the use of reliable and safe AI.
