What You Should Know:

– GE HealthCare announced the launch of the Vivid™ Pioneer, an advanced and adaptive cardiovascular ultrasound system. The system, which recently received CE Mark and U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance, is designed to support clinicians with exceptional imaging in 2D, 4D, and color flow, streamlined workflow, and enhanced diagnostic confidence.

– The Vivid Pioneer aims to help cardiology teams work smarter, not harder, in the face of increased patient volume, clinical complexity, and staffing shortages.

Advanced Imaging and AI-Powered Automation

The Vivid Pioneer is powered by the next-generation cSound™ Pioneer architecture and sophisticated probe technology, which produces sharp, detailed cardiac imaging. The system offers enhanced spatial and contrast resolution and improved color sensitivity. Its new 4Vc-D and 6Sc-D probes, built on XDclear™ technology, are designed to help clinicians visualize fine anatomical structures and assess cardiac function with a new level of accuracy in both pediatric and adult patients.

The new system also features up to 360% faster AI performance and a suite of intelligent tools that accelerate automation and measurement. These AI algorithms are designed to reduce inter-operator variability and accelerate workflows, which supports clinicians at every experience level. New automated features include AI Cardiac Auto Doppler for measurements, Easy AFI for strain results and ejection fraction analyses, and 4D Auto LHQ for left heart function assessment.

Engineered for Clinical Efficiency and Comfort

The Vivid Pioneer is engineered for clinical efficiency and comfort, with an ergonomic design that includes a simplified user interface, a larger screen, and a customizable touch panel. Its compact design allows clinicians to navigate tight spaces with ease, from echo labs to catheterization labs and bedsides. The onboard battery enables uninterrupted workflow when moving between rooms and allows for scanning for up to five minutes on battery alone during a power loss.
