What You Should Know:

– Cohere Health®, a leader in clinical intelligence solutions tailored for health plans and risk-bearing providers raises $90M in a Series C funding round led by Temasek, with continued strong support from existing investors including Deerfield Management, Define Ventures, Flare Capital Partners, Longitude Capital, and Polaris Partners. This latest round brings Cohere Health’s total funding to an impressive $200M.

– The infusion of new capital is earmarked to propel Cohere Health into its next phase of growth. Key initiatives include scaling its flagship Cohere Unify™ platform, expanding its application into new clinical use cases, and significantly deepening investment in its portfolio of AI-powered products.

Modernizing Healthcare Collaboration with Cohere Unify™

Cohere Unify™ is at the heart of the company’s mission, designed to establish critical points of collaboration between health plans and healthcare providers. The platform aims to modernize the often-cumbersome utilization management (UM) process by personalizing provider workflows and optimizing engagement through the use of real-time performance data.

By streamlining these interactions, Cohere Health is laying the groundwork for a broader transformation in clinical decision-making. The platform has demonstrated measurable administrative and clinical efficiencies, effectively streamlining the authorization process for pending medical services. This leads to reduced friction for providers, accelerates patients’ time to care, and ultimately contributes to improved outcomes for health plan members. A standout feature of Cohere’s precision clinical insights is the ability for up to 90% of service requests to be auto-approved, allowing providers to dedicate less time to paperwork and more valuable time to patient care, while fostering deeper collaboration between physicians and health plans on complex cases.

A Clinician-Led, Responsible AI-First Strategy

As the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare continues to be a subject of intense discussion and scrutiny, Cohere Health emphasizes its clinician-led model and a “responsible AI-first” approach. This philosophy ensures that clinical expertise remains central to every solution the company develops, underpinning Cohere’s commitment to innovation, accuracy, and accountability. This strategy provides a transparent and reliable model for the automation of healthcare processes.

Significant Growth and Industry Recognition

Over the past year, Cohere Health has achieved notable milestones, including an expansion of its client base, the strengthening of its executive leadership team, and deeper platform adoption across the healthcare sector. The company currently processes over 12 million prior authorization requests annually, serving a network of more than 600,000 providers nationwide.

“Our mission has always been simple: to help people receive the right care at the right time, in the right place, and with the right value,” said Siva Namasivayam, CEO and co-founder of Cohere Health. “This funding is a catalyst to drive Cohere’s growth, expanding our industry-leading UM expertise into new use cases, scaling our operations, and allowing us to continue to transform how plans and providers collaborate to deliver care in ways that truly differentiate us.”
