What You Should Know:

– Guardian Life Insurance, a leading provider of employee benefits, has announced a new partnership with Uber Health to further enhance its support for members with long-term disability claims.

– Guardian will now provide Uber vouchers to eligible members, enabling them to access crucial medical appointments and rehabilitation services.

Transportation Assistance to Long-Term Disability Claimants

This initiative addresses a growing need for comprehensive disability support. According to recent research from Guardian, nearly one-third of U.S. households have experienced a disability leave of at least 30 days in the past decade. Beyond the financial strain of lost income, individuals often face difficulties accessing necessary care, which can hinder their recovery and return-to-work prospects.

This new program builds upon Guardian’s existing suite of support services. For instance, members with cancer diagnoses have access to comprehensive cancer support through Osara Health, and caregiver support services are available through Wellthy. These resources, along with the new Uber Health benefit, are accessible through GuardianWell™, the company’s digital wellness platform.

Future Expansion Plans

Guardian and Uber Health plan to expand this collaboration in the future to include members with short-term disability claims and to provide support for caregivers. This reflects Guardian’s commitment to a holistic approach to well-being, addressing the diverse needs of its members throughout their healthcare journey.

Availibity

Starting in mid-January, eligible members with new long-term disability claims will receive an Uber voucher directly in their Uber app. This voucher can be used for rides to and from medical appointments, physical therapy sessions, and other essential healthcare services.
