Mayo Clinic Taps UltraSight to Advance AI-Powered Ultrasound for Cardiac Care

What You Should Know:

– UltraSight, a leader in transforming cardiac imaging with artificial intelligence, announced a new collaboration with Mayo Clinic, a world-renowned medical center.

– UltraSight and Mayo Clinic will work together to develop algorithms for analyzing and interpreting cardiac ultrasound images captured using point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) devices. This collaboration seeks to create a comprehensive solution that provides decision support for healthcare providers, enabling them to make more informed diagnoses and treatment decisions for cardiac conditions.

Addressing the Growing Need for Cardiac Care:

Cardiovascular disease remains a global health concern, affecting an estimated 130 million people worldwide according to the American Heart Association. This partnership aims to address the rising demand for timely and consistent cardiac care by making advanced diagnostic tools more accessible.

Strategic Partnership for Innovation:

Through this collaboration, UltraSight will gain access to Mayo Clinic’s extensive resources, including a team of leading researchers, clinicians, and a vast database of patient data. This access will be instrumental in refining and scaling the development of UltraSight’s AI-powered cardiac solutions.

Benefits of the collaboration include:

  • Improved Diagnosis and Treatment: By leveraging AI, healthcare professionals can gain valuable insights from PoCUS images, potentially leading to faster and more accurate diagnoses for cardiac issues.
  • Enhanced Accessibility of Cardiac Care: PoCUS devices are portable and readily available in various healthcare settings, making cardiac assessments more accessible, particularly in situations where traditional ultrasound machines are unavailable.

Strategic Investment by Mayo Clinic:

Significantly, Mayo Clinic has also become an investor in UltraSight, demonstrating their confidence in the technology’s potential. Revenue generated by this investment will be used to support Mayo Clinic’s core mission of patient care, education, and research.

“UltraSight Real-time Guidance software harnesses the power of AI to allow more medical practitioners to capture images with confidence,” said Davidi Vortman, CEO of UltraSight. “However, obtaining diagnostic quality cardiac images at the patient point of care is only the first step needed to increase patient access to quality care. We firmly believe that point-of-care ultrasound, when enhanced by the capabilities of AI, holds potential to optimize patient care. Through this collaboration, we plan to enhance our solution to detect and manage cardiac conditions in a more scalable and cost-effective way, ultimately helping more patients receive timely treatment.”
