Pager Health and League Partner to Address Maternal Health Crisis

What You Should Know:

– Pager Health and League, leading forces in digital healthcare, have joined forces to tackle the critical issue of maternal health in the United States.

– The strategic collaboration aims to deliver a truly personalized and effective maternity care experience, potentially improving outcomes for millions of mothers-to-be.

The U.S. Maternal Health Crisis in Numbers

The United States faces a stark reality when it comes to maternal health. The maternal mortality rate in the U.S. is nearly three times higher than France, the second-highest country, and a staggering seven times higher than Germany. While recent reports show a decrease in overall mortality rates since the pandemic, significant racial and ethnic disparities persist. Black women in the U.S. are disproportionately impacted, experiencing a mortality rate of nearly 50 deaths per 100,000 live births compared to White women at just 19 per 100,000.

Personalized Care Through Technology

League’s established platform offers individualized, data-driven maternity programs and evidence-based care plans, supporting women throughout their pregnancy journey – from pre-conception to postpartum care. Now, with the integration of Pager Health’s 360 Enterprise Orchestration solution, League’s platform gains crucial features:

  • Secure Chat: This allows for safe and convenient communication between patients and care providers.
  • Multi-Point Care Navigation: Patients can seamlessly navigate their care journey through various touchpoints within the platform.
  • Trusted, Interconnected Experience: The integration fosters a cohesive and reliable care ecosystem for mothers-to-be.

“There is a need within the current American healthcare system for a program that provides ongoing outreach to make sure busy mothers, both new and expectant, receive the right care at the right time that is so essential for a healthy delivery and postpartum health,” said Rita Sharma, chief product officer at Pager Health. “In partnership with League, our goal is to provide a safety net for new and expectant mothers that guides them to the appropriate level of care, informs them about following escalation protocols, and connects them to clinicians to provide additional support and reassurance.”
