HIMSS24: Augmedix Go Enhances Efficiency and Accuracy in Medical Documentation with New Data and Product Updates

Real-Time Note Generation Across Specialties

Augmedix Go seamlessly integrates with leading EHRs, including Epic, Oracle Cerner, Meditech, and athenahealth, allowing for proper organization of previously unstructured documentation into appropriate clinical data domains. Go uses a problem-based note approach, with note content organized within the History of Present Illness (HPI) and Assessment and Plan (A&P) sections of the patient’s chart.

Augmedix Go now supports over 50 medical specialties. The app utilizes natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs), including Google Cloud’s MedLM, to analyze real-time conversations between clinicians and patients. This analysis generates comprehensive draft medical notes, reducing documentation burden.

Survey Results Highlight Clinician Benefits

A recent survey conducted among Augmedix Go users revealed significant improvements in clinician workflows. Key findings include:

  • Clinicians in ambulatory settings save up to one hour or more per clinic day.
  • 94% of surveyed clinicians reported improved focus on patients due to Augmedix Go’s assistance.

Multi-Model Approach Ensures Quality and Trust

Augmedix Go employs a unique approach, utilizing a collection of LLMs that cross-check each other. This ensures the accuracy and trustworthiness of the generated notes. Additionally, Augmedix leverages its experience from creating over 10 million high-quality notes to develop specialty-specific models. These models are further refined through a feedback loop involving human subject matter experts, guaranteeing consistent quality across specialties.

Improved Note Structure and Content

Augmedix Go employs specialty-specific quality scoring rubrics to train its models. This ensures detailed and relevant content within each note section. As an example, for oncologists, Augmedix Go automatically generates sections including:

  • History of Present Illness (HPI) with a focus on oncology
  • Interval History summarizing the last visit
  • Comprehensive Physical Exam including ECOG score
  • Assessment and Plan (A&P) with disease status and treatment plan details

Enhanced Workflow Flexibility

The platform accommodates diverse workflows with features like additional recordings for capturing multiple interactions within a single patient visit. Augmedix Go then seamlessly stitches these recordings together to create a cohesive problem-based or visit-based note, depending on user preferences. Over half of Augmedix Go users have adopted this new feature, highlighting its value in capturing comprehensive patient information.
