Limbic Secures $14M to Expand AI-Powered Mental Health in U.S.

What You Should Know:

– Limbic, a London-based provider of clinical mental health AI technology raises $14M led by Khosla Ventures.

– The funding, which also includes participation from Gaingels and Illusian, will fuel Limbic’s expansion into the US healthcare market.

Proven Success in the UK, Expanding to the US

Limbic’s clinical AI platform has already positively impacted over 260,000 patients within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) Talking Therapies program. This technology has demonstrably:

– Increased access to mental health services

– Accelerated patient onboarding

– Reduced wait times

– Improved the quality of care

The newly secured funding will be used to expand the availability of Limbic’s AI solutions to US healthcare providers. Initial partnerships with US health systems and payers will be announced in the coming months.

Addressing Disparities and Improving Efficiency

Limbic’s technology has demonstrably increased access to mental healthcare, particularly among underserved communities. A recent Nature Medicine study found that Limbic’s use within the NHS led to:

– 179% increase in referrals among non-binary individuals

– 39% increase in referrals among Asian patients

– 40% increase in referrals among Black patients

Furthermore, peer-reviewed research indicates that Limbic’s platform has saved the NHS over 50,000 hours of clinician time.

Beyond Clinical Settings: Supporting Patients Between Sessions

Limbic offers the world’s first Generative AI mental health companion, providing continuous support to users between therapy sessions. This chatbot interface utilizes Limbic’s sophisticated AI to guide users through a variety of activities and educational materials, offering on-demand, clinically-rigorous mental health support.
