Increasing Access to Clinical Expertise Via Online Clinics
Bastion Health is the first-ever comprehensive digital men’s health clinic specializing in reproductive and prostate health, offering quick and convenient access to urologists and men’s health specialists. Bastion aims to normalize the conversation surrounding men’s health and offers a way for men to proactively take control of their health from the comfort of their own home with convenient consultations, diagnostic testing, assessments, clinical treatment plans, and on-demand educational content, available through the Bastion Health app.
Bastion’s all-in-one ecosystem makes it the first digital men’s health clinic to offer comprehensive testing and treatment options for fertility and prostate health. The Bastion Health end-to-end, direct-to-patient solutions for prostate and fertility programs bypass the many thousands of dollars spent and frustrating process men undertake for prostate and urology care, and puts them in control of their prostate and reproductive health in the comfort of their own home. The comprehensive Bastion Health ecosystem includes:
Prostate Workup ($450)
– PSA (prostate-specific antigen) testing
– Urine analysis
– Urology virtual visit
– Clinical assessment and diagnosis
– Treatment and prescriptions where necessary
*Once the kit arrives, the patient provides finger-prick blood droplets and urine sample, then sends the kit in.
Male Fertility Workup ($675)
– Semen testing
– Male fertility hormone testing
– Urology virtual visit
– Clinical assessment and diagnosis
– Treatment and prescriptions where necessary
*Once the kit arrives, the patient provides finger-prick blood droplets and semen samples, then sends the kit in.
Once patients collect the samples, they can easily and discreetly return them by mail for analysis in a CLIA-certified laboratory. In as early as two weeks, the patient will have a complete assessment of their prostate or reproductive health by a clinical team of urologists and nurse practitioners and, if needed, a prescription to address their diagnosis. The end-to-end process is the fastest, least expensive, and least labor-intensive for male fertility and prostate patients when compared to other traditional and digital providers.
“We are excited to bring the first-ever 360 digital men’s health solution for prostate and reproductive health to market with assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in one,” says Reza Amin, CEO and founder of Bastion Health. “With our comprehensive platform, we provide a safe, easy and cost-effective way for men to stay proactive in monitoring their healthcare from the comfort of their home.”
The test kits further expand Bastion Health’s comprehensive men’s health services, including assessment, treatment, monitoring and coaching. In January, Bastion Health announced the release of its reproductive and prostate telehealth packages, which include programmatic consultation with men’s health specialists, a deep clinical assessment, diagnostic testing, and treatment plans with a Bastion Health specialist.
Prostate cancer is the most common malignancy among elderly men and is the second-leading malignancy in the Western world, affecting one in eight men at some point in their lives. Nearly 98 percent of prostate cancer cases are treatable if they are diagnosed early. Yet, according to the National Cancer Institute, less than half of all men 40 and older received their annual prostate screening in 2018, the most recent year for which data is available. Infertility testing and treatment is more sophisticated and widely available for women than men, even though as much as 60 percent of infertility cases can be informed by male factors. As a result, men are usually the last member of couples intending to become parents to receive the infertility treatment and diagnosis they need. Bastion Health’s ambitious efforts to increase accessibility to testing and clinical expertise aims to address the disparities when it comes to malignancies such as prostate cancer.
